Callings, Purpose & Regrets
Today I am speaking to those of you who feel like there is something else for you. You feel a level of dissatisfaction, followed by a swift belt of guilt because you should be happy with what you have and there are loads of people worse off than you.
You know that you can care deeply about what is going on in the world AND move the dial in your own life so that you are living the path that you are supposed to be living?? I know right! They are not mutually exclusive. You can want more in your life and still be a good person (I promise!)
There are things you want to do, say, make, go to and it all feels like a pipe dream, not realistic, something for later on…
I also know that some of you really want to usher in a new way of being and want things to be different. You have ideas, nudges, creative projects and business that are stifled away inside. Those of you who are listening, who get those nudges and niggles about things that you want to do, things that you're here to do not because you are ‘chosen’ or anything like that but because it just won't kind of leave you alone!
Consider these:
If you didn’t care what people thought what would you do?
If money wasn't in the equation who would you be?
If you didn’t have to show your work to anyone what would you write or make?
If bills didn’t have to be paid how would you spend your time?
If you had a chance to start over what would you study?
If you weren't trying to please your parents/friends/society in general who would you be?
I know that sometimes you won't even go there because what's the point? 'I've left it too late' Often (not always) these can be protective measure to protect us from disappointment. Because if we don't try and then we definitely can't fail and if we can't fail then we won't feel disappointment
But
Not trying or just settling can lead to a life full of regrets. And even if you cant live out all of your purpose or calling right now, I guarantee there is one element of it that you can. Try it out, do a small tiny bit, keep to your yourself at first and do it just for you.
